NZ New Mexico, LLC

NZ received 310 acres in Las Cruces, NM in a federal mineral rights exchange in 1990. The land is nicely located on a hill overlooking the Rio Grande and the interstate system less than 5 miles west of town. Successful subdivisions on both sides of this parcel prove to be one of the nicer areas for custom homes west of town.

A trip to New Mexico the first week of October 2003 revealed that raw land adjacent to this parcel is selling for up to $20,000 per acre. There is no doubt that this is a great investment to hold long-term.

Las Cruces

The city of Las Cruces, established in 1849, is a thriving, small city with natural desert landscaping. The current population is 75,000 and 163,000 for all of Doņa Ana County.

The vistas, hillside physical setting and suburban isolation provide an opportunity for an environmentally compatible subdivision of high quality, estate type homes.

There is a growing demand in Albuquerque (225 miles away) and possibly in El Paso (42 miles away) for somewhere to escape from the urban life. This market undercurrent could very well be directed to Las Cruces.

Las Cruces is located in Southern New Mexico, on the edge of the Chihuahuan Desert, at the foot of the Organ Mountains and along the banks of the Rio Grand.

Weather

Las Cruces enjoys 350 days of sunshine per year. Temperatures in the summer months routinely reach the high 90s, with night-time lows in the 60s. The fall air is a bit cooler with day-time highs of mid 70s to low 80s. During the winter, when northern states are digging themselves out from under the snow, Las Cruces basks in day-time temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to lower 60s. And as Spring arrives in March and April, temperatures climb steadily from the low to high 80s. Las Cruces receives an average of 8.5 inches of rain per year and no more than two inches of snow in the winter.

Public Announcements

Las Cruces was recently rated as one of the Best Places to Retire in 2002 by Money Magazine and ranked as the Best Small Metro Area for Business & Careers in 2002 by Forbes/Milken Institute.

Hispanic Magazine, August 2003,  has rated the Las Cruces and El Paso area fifth among the top 10 U.S. cities for Hispanics to live.
