A consulting
geologist's report has estimated that probable and possible
uranium reserves total 40 million pounds, all amenable
to the in-situ leach process. Mining costs are about $15
per pound and the current market price is shown in the
chart above. Prices peaked at $40 when the market was
hot. NZ received over $22 million in royalties during
the last uranium boom. Russian military supplies have
been depressing the market combined with the "anti"
nuclear policy pervasive in many nations. |

During the
Clinton administration and post-Chernobyl period, the
nuclear industry suffered. At some point in the future,
energy experts agree that we will have to tap back into
nuclear energy, solve safety issues and produce the vast
majority of our electricity. In 2001, President Bush added
nuclear power back into the core US energy plan. On September
27, 2004, the price per pound hit $20.00. |

The New Energy
Bill, if it ever passes, provides significant incentives
for Nuclear Power Plants and may prove to be the jump-start
needed for the USA uranium market. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Worldwide
production capacity has fallen far below annual consumption
in existing nuclear power plants. Most of the world's
current uranium production is based upon term contracts
at prices substantially above spot market. |

|

By the end
of this century, experts project that nuclear-generated
electricity will exceed that produced by all fossil fuels
based on the current rate of fossil fuel depletion. These
latent assets will be of incredible value someday - 10
years or 50 years from now. |
